Attendance and time for the team
Everything about the team’s hours is in one place: in the Operations menu, click Attendance and time. Each person sees only the tabs meant for them.
The tabs and who sees them
Link to section: The tabs and who sees them- Overview: managers, members with payroll access, owners and admins. What is happening today and what waits for a decision.
- My attendance: every member. See Record your working time.
- Time reports: every member. See Work time and time reports.
- Employees: managers, payroll access, owners and admins. See Contract and terms.
- Clients and projects: managers, owners and admins. See Work time and time reports.
- Leave and absence: every member. See Leave and absence.
- Reports: managers, payroll access, owners and admins. See Attendance and time reports.
- Payroll: owners, admins and members with payroll access. See Close the month and export to Michpal.
- Settings: owners and admins.
A “manager” here is the Direct manager set on the employee details. A manager sees themselves and the members they directly manage, nobody else. A member with Payroll access sees everyone’s attendance, leave and payroll, but not the time and costs of clients and projects. Owners and admins see everything.
An office may track attendance, time reports, or both. When one of them is off, its tabs do not appear.
The overview
Link to section: The overviewCards at the top cover today: Working now (and how many are on a break), Came in today, Away today and Not clocked in: members with a working day in their contract, no clock-in and no leave, with the time they were expected.
Below them, depending on what you may see:
- This month: days, hours, overtime and missing days per employee.
- Time reports this week: time at work this week that is not reported to a client, task or project.
- Most hours this month, and for owners and admins also Labor cost this month.
- Project budgets: projects Over budget or Near the budget (80% or more).
- Payroll for last month, for those who run payroll: whether the month is closed and exported to Michpal.
Open the report in a card’s corner opens the full report for that period.
What waits for you
Link to section: What waits for youUnder Waiting for you you see how many Corrections, Leave requests and last month’s Timesheets wait for your decision, followed by the lists themselves:
- Workdays needing review: search for a member and filter by reason (Auto-closed, Corrected, No break, Long day).
- Pending correction requests: Approve or Reject right in the row. When the month is closed, it has to be reopened before approving.
- Waiting for your decision: leave requests. See Leave and absence.
Only the direct manager, an owner or an admin decides a member’s request. A member with payroll access alone sees it without the decision buttons. Nobody approves their own request, except an owner.
Clocked in now at the bottom of the page shows who is at work and since when.
Check a member’s day
Link to section: Check a member’s dayClicking a day opens it: worked, breaks and status, the Punch timeline, the day’s Leave and absence, the Change history (who changed what and when) and Work activity (estimate). At the bottom:
- Mark reviewed: for a day that needs review. An auto-closed day first needs a correction with the real clock-out time.
- Request a correction: proposes new punches, and the request goes for approval as usual.
- Edit punches: owners and admins only, not on their own days (except an owner). The change is saved at once and kept in the history. A day in a closed month cannot change.
- Record leave for this day: for whoever decides the member’s leave.
Settings
Link to section: SettingsOwners and admins open the Settings tab (the settings moved here from the office settings):
- What the office uses: Attendance and Time reports, each on its own.
- Clocking: Clocking mode Optional or Required, and the Workspace timezone.
- Safeguards: Auto-close after (hours), Idle prompt (minutes) and Grace window (minutes).
- Attendance signals: after how many minutes a day counts as no clock-in or a forgotten clock-out, and how much Unreported time allowed. These signals send nothing by themselves. For someone to get a reminder, turn on an automation, for example from the template Remind a member who forgot to clock out. A signal never closes a shift.
- Anomaly flags: flag long days without a sufficient break for review.
Choose Save. Below these settings are the Michpal export settings. See Close the month and export to Michpal.
