Match bank and card activity

Reconciliation means checking that financial records agree with the activity they represent.

  1. Open the client and choose Bookkeeping → Reconciliation, or open an account’s reconciliation tab.
  2. Choose the account and relevant period.
  3. Review the unmatched rows and proposed matches.
  4. Compare dates, amounts, and references with the documents.
  5. Approve a match only when the items belong together.

An equal amount is a useful clue, not proof that two entries match.

Check for missing documents, a different date range, duplicate activity, fees, or an incorrect account assignment. Use the explanation and correction actions available on screen.

Check the remaining difference and any required approval or certification. Monthly close may remain blocked until the account’s reconciliation checks pass.

Ask the responsible bookkeeper before forcing a correction or changing a balance.
