File reports: VAT, advances, deductions and National Insurance
Anyone who works on the client and can edit it can record a filing. Sending through the Tax Authority connection is for office admins. The Filing part looks the same for every kind of report.
When to file
Link to section: When to fileOnce the client approved, the next step is File the report. A client who does not approve reports gets here straight from preparing.
The client has not approved yet and the deadline is here? You can still file. The client has not approved yet appears, and you write Why file without the approval?. The reason is saved with the report and shown on it.
File through the Tax Authority connection
Link to section: File through the Tax Authority connectionVAT, income tax advances and deductions (102) are sent from here when the office is connected to the Tax Authority in the settings.
- In How is it paid?, choose Direct debit by the office or The client pays. VAT to pay is sent from here only with direct debit; for another way of paying, file in the Tax Authority’s system and record it here.
- Check before sending checks the report’s details and amounts and shows what will be sent, without sending anything. Anything to fix shows with an explanation. Only the Tax Authority’s answer after sending says whether the report was accepted.
- Send to the Tax Authority asks for a last confirmation. Tick I checked the amounts and the client’s details and send.
- Once accepted, the report is marked as filed with its confirmation number. For advances you can download The Tax Authority’s confirmation.
Filing history lists every attempt: who sent it, what the Tax Authority answered and the errors it returned. A request that was sent is not a report that was accepted.
Unknown whether the report went through
Link to section: Unknown whether the report went throughIf the connection dropped before an answer arrived, the attempt shows Outcome unknown and the report cannot be sent again or recorded by hand until it is checked. Check in the representatives’ system, and an office admin chooses Record outcome in the history: The report was filed (with the reference, if there is one) marks it as filed, and The report was not filed allows sending again. When contacting the Tax Authority’s support, give the Support code shown next to the attempt.
A filing made outside the app
Link to section: A filing made outside the appNational Insurance, detailed VAT (PCN874), an office that is not connected, or a filing someone else made: click I filed it myself.
Before recording a filing, enter or calculate its amounts and finish the open office steps before filing. If the button is disabled, hover over it to see what is missing.
- Filed on: today or an earlier date.
- Confirmation number and a confirmation file, if you have them. The file is saved in the client’s files.
- Payment: Already paid, Direct debit, Not paid yet or Nothing to pay.
- Record the filing.
Made a mistake? Undo the filing returns the report to before it was filed. A report sent through the Tax Authority connection is not undone from here.
Payment
Link to section: PaymentFinish any open office steps before marking the payment as settled. Recording an already paid filing also requires these steps to be finished.
- Direct debit (sent from here, or Direct debit when recording by hand) and Already paid: nothing to confirm, and the report moves to Done.
- The client pays or Not paid yet: the report stays in To confirm payment with Waiting for payment. Once the payment went through, click Mark as paid and the report moves to Done. Not paid yet reverses it.
- Nothing to pay (a refund or a zero report): the report is done right away.
Deductions report (102)
Link to section: Deductions report (102)- The client’s tax profile needs a Deductions file. Without it, the report cannot be sent.
- In the full form, enter the Register number (if the client’s previous report had one, it is suggested) and a line for each deduction type: 00 salaries and wages, 06 payments other than salary, 08 advances for excess expenses, 10 foreign workers levy, 16 payroll tax in a nonprofit, 17 payroll tax in a financial institution.
- On each line, enter the number of employees, salaries or payments, and the amount charged, in whole shekels. Type 08 has no employee count. In a month with no employees, tick No employment and the line is sent with zeros.
- The amount to pay is the total of the charges. A report with nothing to pay is sent as a zero report.
For now the Tax Authority accepts only a first report for the previous month. If the connection to the Tax Authority was made before the deductions service was added, the settings ask to connect it again.
National Insurance
Link to section: National InsuranceEnter the amount by hand on the report, file in National Insurance’s system, and record it here with I filed it myself.
If a detailed VAT file is needed, prepare a PCN874 file.
