  1. Open Clients and choose Add account.
  2. Enter the business name and choose the entity type. A separate registration-number field appears for relevant entity types. Open the additional details if you need a custom display name.
  3. Enter the tax identifier. Correct format or checksum errors before continuing. If Office finds an existing match, review it before creating another file.
  4. Complete the contact details you have.
  5. Choose Create and finish later, or continue to the optional bookkeeping and SmartBill steps.
  6. Confirm creation and check that the new client workspace opens.

Choose Prepare bookkeeping now to select a bookkeeping method and a source for the account index. Open Review and customize to edit the copied definitions before continuing. Read the bookkeeping setup guide.

Connecting an existing SmartBill company and creating a new one are different actions. Read the preview before confirming either. If a connection step fails after the client is created, keep the existing client file and retry its connection.

Search for the client in Clients and open the file. Confirm the name and identifier. Link the right contacts and ask the manager to check who can access the file.
