Who can see and change things?
Office roles
Link to section: Office rolesOwners and administrators manage broader office responsibilities. Ordinary members work with the records and actions their role and assignments allow.
Client and contact access, task visibility, project membership, messaging access, and bookkeeping responsibilities can each affect what you can do.
Before sharing
Link to section: Before sharingRead the visibility message on a task or project. A public project means public within the office, not public on the internet.
A copied internal link does not give another person permission to open the record. Client-facing form links are different: send them only to the intended recipient.
Request the right access
Link to section: Request the right accessTell the manager which client, project, or action you need and why. Ask for the access needed for that work rather than a broader role by default.
A button is disabled
Link to section: A button is disabledIt may be a permission issue, but it can also mean a required field is missing, a connection is unavailable, or a period is closed. Read the message first.
